BOYS Teams: In the first real test for 2011 NXN runner-up and current US#2 Southlake Carroll (Marc Bloom Super 25), the Dragons had a 50-second 1-5 spread and – despite standout Joe Sansone being somewhat off form – topped rival US#9 The Woodlands in the Elite division, 55-76. Cedar Park was third with 126 in the 16-team field.

BOYS Indiv.: The Woodlands sr Brigham Hedges got a huge victory in a field that included almost every top runner in the Lone Star State. He ran 15:18.2 for 5k, edging Hebron sr Robert Domanic 15:20.5 and Friendswood sr Ryan Teel 15:21.5. Domanic is the top Texas Foot Locker returnee from 2011 (20th) and Teel the #1 NXN returnee from Texas (16th). Southlake Carroll sr Joe Sansone, the top-ranked Texan coming in with an earlier win over Domanic and others at the Marcus meet, was 9th and SLC’s 3rd man. Junior Connor Hendrickson led the Dragons in 4th.

GIRLS Teams: SO#2/US#16 Southlake Carroll made it a sweep of the Elite titles, scoring 55 to top SE#3 Lake Braddock VA’s 71-point total. SO#1/US#13 The Woodlands did not compete here. Flower Mound was third in the 18-team field with 90.

GIRLS Indiv.: US#11 Lake Braddock VA sr Sophie Chase got the big out-of-state win with 17:40.4. She’s the top returnee from Foot Locker South (2nd in 2011). College Park sr Katherine Jensen was 2nd in 17:54.4 and another non-Texan, Durham Acad. NC soph Eliza Dekker, was third in 18:05.9.
